The Covid-19 online support groups are an opportunity for people to check in and share with the group about their struggles. Often when we share with other and they share with us we feel less alone and more connected. There is comfort in knowing that we are not the only ones feeling a certain way.
Groups require a minimum of 3 people and a maximum of 6. This gives everyone time to share and connect.
Sessions are 90 minutes long and done online using Webex. The cost is $10 per session.
The session are drop in style. Meaning the people who sign up for each session will be different. There are no fixed groups. Depending on demand there maybe multiple sessions a day or week. You can sign up for the sessions that best fix your schedule.
Getting started: To run a session I need a minimum of 3 people. To get this organized I need individual to fill out the Covid-19 sign up form and indicate which times of day work best for them. Once I have enough people that are all free at the same time I will schedule the first group session.
What if there aren't enough people? If you want to do a group session please help me spread the word. If can take a bit of time to find enough people for a support group. However, right now there are probably a number of people struggling and if you can help me get the word out about these support groups I am sure we can find enough people to get the support group up and running.
Generally speaking each session will follow the same format, a chance for each person to check in and share how they are feeling. From there we will see what common themes might be coming up for the group and then we We might do a group exercise or give someone more time to share what is going on for them or talk more about feelings and anxieties that might be coming up at this time and how to cope with them.

After I receive your form I will call/email and let you know how many people have expressed interest and when the first session might take place. Once we confirm enough people for a support group session I will send you a link to fill out the intake form which needs to be completed. This form needs to be completed before the first session. I will also send you an online invoice using Paypal. You can pay via Paypal or send an e-transfer to my email address.
