Anger

Anger shows up in many different ways in our lives. Some signs of anger are obvious (yelling, road rage). Other signs of anger, such as holding a grudge or giving someone the silent treatment, can be less noticeable.

Anger comes from within. Its easier to point to someone and say that person or that action makes me angry. But when we do that, we aren't able to address the problem. Anger is a defense, a way to protect ourselves from experiencing our more vulnerable feelings.

To address anger, we will look at what is going on below the surface. Look for what is shared between different situations when you feel angry and then work from there to figure out where the anger comes from and help you deal with it.

Talking about anger in a counselling session is different than just talking about it with a friend. In counselling, there is no judgement or attempt to talk you out of your anger. Your anger is a feeling which together we will explore just like any other feeling.

Call or email me to book a counselling session, 604.358.7580.

For those that need a more structure approach to dealing with anger I offer a mutli-week course.
Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.
